The female national basketball team of Liberia
Lone Star lost its first ever international match to Niger on Friday.
At the Sports Commission on Broad Street, the Lone Star
went down 39-59 against their rivals from Nigeria.
The coach of Liberia, Solomon George blamed the defeat
his side on phobia and inferiority complex.
Coach called for the building of a program to
mold the minds of the players.
Liberia will meet Niger for the second leg at the same venue.
The winner of the two matches will progress to
the African Women Championship in Niger.
Also on Friday, NPA Pythons fell to LPRC Oilers 58-63 in the second
phase of the National Basketball League at the same venue.
Mighty Barrolle will take on Invincible Eleven
(IE) in another league match.
