Liberia faces Malawi, Nigeria and Ghana in a week’s time

The honoring of international matches is as old as the
administration of Musa Bility itself.
By Henry Flomo
The Bility administration is working frantically hard to
enhance augmentation and exposure of players of the National
team by lining up series of international matches, one after
the other.
In recent past, this has been a nightmare for the National
team to play trial matches before crunch fixtures in CAF and
Fifa competitions. Senior Pros, IE, Barrolle, NPA and others
have served as opponents to the National team ahead of major
encounters irrespective of the fact that the Lone Star local
players are normally recruited from the very clubs leaving
them depleted , in strength and technique with no logic left
to back why they should stand for a test match.
The honoring of international matches is as old as the
administration of Musa Bility itself. A triangular fray to
commemorate Liberia’s national day in July 2010 marked the
first sets off test matches, coming just four months into
the administration existence. The Republics of Guinea and
Ghana made up that tournament.
Since then, the LFA under this administration has arranged
and honored several other matches: Angola, Gambia, Niger,
Nigeria, Yemen (away) and just last week August 15, away to
Equatorial Guinea.
In furtherance of this paradigm shift in football
administration locally, the National team will play host to
the Flames of Malawi and the Black Stars of Ghana on
September 4th and 11th, 2012 respectively. The two games
will be sandwiched by the AFCON qualifier against the Super
Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday September 8 in Monrovia. The
three games are expected to unfold at the Samuel Kayan Doe
football stadium in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.
The Malawi Flames will arrive on September 3rd aboard Kenya
Airways with a 27 member delegation. Kick off time at SKD is
8pm on September 4th.
The local component of the National team has been on camp at
the Stone Haven Gust House in Congo town even before leaving
for Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. The administration and player
are seeking a third berth at Africa’s premier football gala,
the Nations cup in 2013 in South Africa.
Play your individual role positively!!
