Liberia has ended her 2008 African Cup Nations qualifying campaign
with a massive defeat.
Liberia went down to Rwanda 4-0 on Saturday inn Kigali to end her
worst qualifying campaign for a nations cup finals.
Rwanda who was at the bottom finished Group 5 in the third place.
A couple of late goals wrapped up a 4-0 win for Rwanda over Liberia
in the African Cup of Nations qualifier where only pride was at
stake.
Four-time African champions Cameroon won Group Five in June with
Equatorial Guinea assured of second spot.
But Rwanda was keen to impress the home fans and scored two first
goals through Kamana Labama and Saidi Abed in Kigali.
Jeannot Witakenge and Olivier Karekezi struck the other goals as
Rwanda climbed to six points, two more than Liberia.
The Lone Star ended the qualifiers with only four points from six
matches played.
Local based players dominated the national team line up with only
few professionals in the line up.
The just ended qualifier saw a massive division between the
country’s top-notch professionals and the technical staff of the
Lone Star headed
