Mohmoud quit after just four months in charge Liberia are looking
for a new national coach following the sudden resignation of Shawky
Hussein Mohmoud.
The Egyptian is now making plans to return home after spending just
four months in Liberia.
Mohmoud was hired under a bilateral arrangement between the
governments of Egypt and Liberia.
But the Egyptian coach has thrown in the towel citing "poor
accommodation and facilities" provided by the Liberian government.
But Liberia's deputy Sports Minister Marbue Richards has refuted the
coach's claims.
"The coach is simply inadaptable. The situation here cannot be
compared to standard practices as we are rebuilding from scratch.
"We have tried to make coach Shawky feel at home, but with the
language barrier it's always a problem getting across to him,"
Richards said.
Shawky hardly speaks English and Richards told BBC Sport that it has
been difficult for the Egyptian to communicate.
Richards said: "We prefer someone who speaks good English and is
adaptable.
"So we have agreed in principle with the Egyptian embassy here for
him to leave.
"The embassy is willing to bring in a new, flexible coach under the
same arrangement."
Meanwhile, the Liberia Football Association has terminated the
services of country's youth team coaches, including the under-23
team which takes part in the Olympic tournament.
The decision is aimed at revamping the teams and standardising the
recruitment process, according to the LFA chief of operations,
Adolph Lawrence.
