Liberia are preparing for the start of the World Cup qualifiers

Liberia beat Sierra Leone 3-1 in a World Cup warm up game in Monrovia on Thursday.

The home side took the lead on 21 minutes thanks to a Zah Krangar strike from the edge of the box.

The Lone Star continued their dominance and doubled their lead in the 58th minute when Anthony Laffor calmly stroked the ball home from 15 yards after making light work of defender Kemokai Kallon.

Kallon made amends seven minutes later when he took advantage of a defensive slip up to pull one back.

But James Zota sealed victory for Liberia with only four minutes remaining with a long range effort.

Both sides are preparing for the start of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers which start next month.

Liberia have been drawn in Group Six to play Senegal, Gambia and Algeria.

Sierra Leone face an uphill task in Group Four of the qualifiers as they take on Nigeria, South Africa and Equatorial Guinea.
