Flashback : Lonestar U 0 lineup against Serria Leone

The Liberia football association has committed the country’s U-20 national team in the 18th African U-20 Championship bound for Algeria in 2013.

The young national side has been drawn against Niger, with the first encounter away to Niger between April 20-22, 2012. The corresponding fixture is on May 6, 2012 in Monrovia.

LFA president Musa Bility maintains his administration will continue to prioritize all spheres of the game. He said the LFA has placed key on the U-20 as scream and bridge of the near future.

The LFA, through the technical director the LFA, Henry Browne, has appointed a 5-member technical staff to run the mission. It is headed by Gray Haizel as head coach.

The rest are: Josiah Garpu, deputy, Augustine Lloyd, assistant, Daei Arab Fofana, goalkeeper coach and Eric Panton, team manager.

According to the head coach Gray, after series of tests aimed at selecting a team, full time training begins Monday.

In a related development, the LFA has also committed the U-17 to the 10th African U-17 Championship slated for Morocco 2013. Liberia is paired with Benin with action beginning in September.
