Liberia Can Beat Nigeria
Says
LFA President…..

The President of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) Musa
Bility says he sure that the Liberian National soccer team,
Lone Star can beat the Supper Eagles of Nigeria to qualify
for the 2013 African Cup Nations finals in South Africa.
The Confederation of African Football, CAF recently paired
the Liberian National team the Lone Star with the supper
Eagles of Nigeria in the final rounds of the 2013 African
Cup of Nations qualifying campaign on a home and away tie.
Speaking on Thursday at the July edition of the LFA monthly
Press conference, Mr. Bility said Liberia has skillful and
talented players to beat Nigeria to qualify for Africa`s
biggest sporting event.
“There are no more big names in African Football. I am sure
that the Lone Star of Liberia can beat the Super Eagles of
Nigeria. Will all due respect to Nigeria, We beat then
before, we can still beat then” the Liberia FA President
added.
Mr. Bility noted the local Football house is presently
negotiating with some top African Football Countries to play
a one day international friendly match before the Nations
Cup qualifying match with Nigeria. Mr Bility said the Lone
Star will also begin early preparation for the event.
Meanwhile, the Liberian Lone Star will host the Supper
Eagles of Nigeria in the first leg of the qualifying
campaign on September 9 at the SKD Sports Complex in
Paynesville City out Monrovia.
The second leg will take place in Abuja, Nigeria on October
12 later this year. Lone Star needs to get the minimum four
points to qualify for the grand finals of African biggest
Football tournament next year in South Africa. Liberia first
qualified for the Africa`s biggest sports event in 1996 in
South Africa and 2002 in Mali during the good old days of
the famous George Weah`s Eleven. Since then Liberia has
occasionally struggle to qualify for the Nations Cup. |
