LFA Searches For PRO

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) is pleased to inform the general public, especially sports journalists that the entity is in search of a qualified Public Relations Officer (PRO).

According to a vacancy announcement released by the local football house, the position is a full time endeavor and requires long hours work.

The LFA noted that successful applicant would be required to carry out the below listed functions.

1) Control the LFA website

2) Build the image of the LFA through the media

3) Inform the media and general public about the policy of the LFA

4) Liaise with the secretariat on all matters for public consumption

5) Perform other duties as may be designated to him/her by the President, General Secretary and deputy General Secretaries as well as committees heads.

Qualifications for the post of LFA PRO include, applicant must be at least a second year University student, must be a member of the Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL), must have at least five years experience in sports journalism and must be able to work with others and interact with the general public cordially.

Other qualifications for the LFA PRO position include, applicant must have attended Public Relations Officer (PRO) Seminar or workshop in or out of Liberia, must be able to organize Press Conference etc, must be able to write and speak English fluently, must be able to work under pressure and hash atmosphere and must be computer literate with emphasis in word and power point.

The LFA announcement concluded that all interested individuals must submit their applications along with CV, contact number or email to:

Deadline for submission of application is January 20, 2010.

Meanwhile many keen followers of Liberian football have welcomed the idea for the local football house to have a Public Relations Officer (PRO).
