player of the week after a period of difficult selection just after
three matches in the elite stage of Liberian football.
Weaka Wisseh, Mighty Barrolle and Liberia National U-20 striker won
Liberiansoccer.com LFA premier league player of the week after
showing some superb performances in the ongoing league helping his
team Mighty Barrolle to avoid defeat and secured 4th place on the 18
teams LFA premier log.
The Versatile player, who is noted for playing in all departments on
the park, already has two goals to his credit after a terrific brace
against United Soccer Ambassador Football Club (USA FC) in the 3-0
win in Granrga, Bong County.
He was instrumental in Mighty Barrolle’s opener against Jubilee at
the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia even though his side
surrounded in the 2- draw after taking the lead.
In that match, Weaka operated as a defensive midfielder after
Barrolle midfield warrior Michael Jaesue boycotted the match.
He won the player of the week after he marvelously showcased against
Margibi County based LFA premier outfit, Mighty Blue Angels in the
1-1 draw in Kaka, Margibi County.
He captained the red and white outfit and was hailed by journalists
and spectators who watched the match.
He won the award ahead of LISCR trio Gizzie Dorbor, Patrick Doepleh
and Patrick Wleh, BYC duo Andrew Swaray, alias Foday and goalie
Winston, Sam Peters of Mighty Barrolle and Mighty Blue Angel’s
Justin Zeon.
Weaka, lack many youngsters, launched his soccer career when he
styled for African Black Star in the LFA 3rd division before moving
to another LFA 3rd division outfit Kallon Professionals.
Due to his whole hearted approached to contemporary football, Weaka
felt in the arms of LFA 2nd division club Olympics where his man
marking and goal scoring abilities help the team booked
qualification to the LFA 1st division.
He later moved to Gedi and Sons in the LFA premiership and wooed
fans with his skills and goal scoring aptitude as he netted 10 goals
for the Patrick Garwo’s boys.
Weaka joined Mighty Barrolle in 2008 from Gedi and Sons and the
clinical lad is on top of his game at the club where his father Mr.
Arthur Wisseh Sr. made history during his days as a footballer.
