LFA
MUST Be Serious

LIBERIA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION (LFA) from all indication is
faced with a preponderance of challenges which no one can
doubt. The football house definitely has a whole lot to do
as far as the improvement or the development of the game is
concerned. Indeed, the running of football not only in
Liberia but the world at large is quite a herculean one
which they say is not for the faint hearted.
ONE CANNOT IN ANY way deny that the FA is not doing well or
making strides in the smooth running of the game as the road
is not all rosy. The football house amidst the criticism,
hurdles and other factors continue to work in what they term
the interest of the game of football.
BUT, WHILE THE LFA HAVE continued to blow its horn of the
plethora of achievements, there is quite a serious need to
urge the FA to be much more serious in its quest to run the
game. Recent issues ranging from the saga with football club Fassell, the unending postmen of congress, the lackadaisical
attitude exhibited in finding a coach for the senior
national team, the eyebrow raising decision to select a
technical director without any explanation as it relates to
criteria used, the poor running or organization of the
national league, the lowly state of youth football
development, the poor state of sub-committees and
sub-associations, the lackluster form of the various
national teams, etc. are all relevant or glaring examples of
why the LFA needs to be very serious in running the game in
a country that is miles behind.
THE FOOTBALL HOUSE MUST be able to explain or be answerable
to stakeholders as it relates to crucial decisions made in
the name of driving the game forward. The Musa Bility led
administration must indeed be very frank, serious and
committed in moving the game forward or else they will
continue to exacerbate the already poor state the game is
in.
TO HAVE A LEAGUE that is unattractive, hurriedly hire a
technical director who has being told exclusively to find a
coach, thus ignoring the vetting process where advertisement
is done which is the best way worldwide, are just few
reasons in a laconic nature that gives one the voice to say
the Blue House must be very organized and serious in making
those decisions that will take the game to another level.
LET THE FA BE REMINDED that the development of the game here
is the responsibility of everyone of us as stakeholders as
we all have an input, and with the FA being at the helm or
the custodian in steering the ship as far as the improvement
of the game is concerned, it must adapt a positive attitude
and stop continuously raising eyebrows, causing confusion,
raising doubts, creating suspicion, etc. which are quite
inimical to the growth and survival of the global leather.
THE LFA MUST REALIZE THAT the game is for all of us and as
such there is a need to be serious in running it as a means
of being on par with our counterparts on the continent least
we speak of the rest of the world. As always, our
constructive criticism must be taken whole heartedly and
must not be seen as a means of making enmity as together we
can make it better.
