After months of classical contemporary Liberian football in the premiership of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), Mighty Barrolle emerged as champions and the local football house crowned the Rollers at home in Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County at the Doris Williams Stadium.

Barrolle thrashed Jubilee FC 3-1 in its last match to be crowned the highest carrier (three out of six) of the LFA premiership.

Weaka Wisseh broke record as the player to have scored the highest goal per season in the LFA premiership after scoring a brace to collect the golden boots with 19 goals in total, while defender Hallie Lahai added the other.

Fans of Mighty Barrolle as well as keen followers of Liberian football turned out in their numbers to watch the colorful ceremony.

After the match, Mighty Barrolle president Mr. Garmondeh Karnga appointed Grand Bassa County Superintendent, Madam Julia Duncan Cassell as head of Barrolle for continental 2010.

Mr. Karnga said the committee headed by madam Cassell has been given the responsibility to mobilize funds to ensure the Rollers participate in the CAF Champions league in 2010.

He also told this paper that the committee will decide the next leadership of Mighty Barrolle for the LFA 2010 national league.

“I am pleased to appoint Madam Julia Duncan Cassell as head of Barrolle for continental 2010.

“Madam Cassell is a Board member of Barrolle who has worked tirelessly to ensure the team remains a formidable side in Liberian football.

‘She’s a reputable personality both locally and internationally and her ascendancy at such position is excellent for the team.

“I want to quit the presidency of Mighty Barrolle in 2010 to contest the LFA 2010 election as Vice President for Administration (VPA).

“I want to move Liberian football forward and therefore, I will not remain president of Barrolle in 2010.

“This committee headed by Madam Cassell will decide the next leadership of Barroll Sports Association (BSA) for the LFA 2010 national league,” Karnga noted.

As for her part, Madam Cassell wholeheartedly accepted the position and pledged her commitment to ensure Mighty Barrolle have an incredible participation in the CAF Champions League.

She said she would work with other Board members to make sure all is well for the Rollers.
