LFA
suspends FC Fassell

The Executive Committee of the Liberia Football Association
has suspended first division club FC Fassell from its
ongoing 2011/2012league, thus automatically being demoted to
the 3rd division.
The highest decision marking body of the local football
house took the decision on Saturday March 31, 2012 in the
boardroom of the LFA at a full seating of the body following
FC Fassell’s decline to pay a fine imposed on it by the LFA
last year.
In February last year, after a match with Fulani in Margibi
County in January, FC Fassell was brought down guilty for
beating and bodily injuring a referee and was fined
US$1,500. The team’s owner and President Cassell Kouh
accepted the verdict, paid US$500 of the amount and signed a
promissory note to pay the balance before his next game as
per the rules of the game.
Ten months on, Kouh and his club have declined to pay the
balance prompting the EC to use the next option after
expulsion-suspension.
The EC also suspended Kuoh himself pending the outcome of a
match fixing allegation brought against him by Small Town,
another 1st division club. |
