Four Counties in Semifinals

National County Sports Meet Defending Champions Nimba County will battle Grand Bassa county in today’s first semifinal match while Bong county will lock horns with Margibi county in the other semifinal at the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville to determine the two finalists of the competition.

All four counties made their way through to the semifinals stages of the 2011-2012 competition after defeating their respective opponents last weekend at the SKD.

Bong County booked their ticket to the semifinals after defeating host county Montserrado 2-0 at the SKD in front of a record crow, while Margibi County dragged Southeastern boys Grand Kru county 3-2 in the other quarterfinal match.

Grand Bassa County also pulled a 2-1 win over Grand Gedeh, while defending Champions Nimba County edged Bomi 1-0 winner in a well entertaining match.

Both Margibi and Bong Counties will be hoping to book their ticket to Sunday’s, January 8, 2012 Grand Final of the 2011-2012 edition of the National County Sports Meet when the two teams lock horns today.
