FASSELL MOVES ON TOP

Liberia ‘Team of the Moment’, FC Fassell recorded an
astonishing 3-0 victory over her first division rival, Gedi
& Sons yesterday at the Nancy B. Doe Stadium in Kakata,
Margibi County to leap at the top of the league table for
the first time this season.
Goals from versatile midfielder, Jammel Jallah (alias George
Weah) and former USA FC striker, Emmanuel Dee was enough to
seal such a crucial victory for the Soccer Missionaries in
her quest to capture the championship, moving her on top of
the table alongside FC Monrovia with 62 points, but supreme
in goal difference, with two outstanding games advantage to
the Fassell Boys.
The game started on a very high pitch but the Fassell boys
were the best, getting their first two games in the early 15
minutes of the match thru Jammel Jallah. Later in the first
half, Emmanuel Dee alias Petit made it 3 goals to zero and
put the first half score at three zero. After the break, FC
Fassell tried to increase her tally but was constantly
denied by the woodwork and the Gedi & Sons’ defense. For her
part, Gedi & Sons did what she could but the Soccer
Missionaries proved too much for her first division
opponent. The match ended three goals to zero.
The result mean well for FC Fassell as she strive to lift
the 1st division championship in her first appearance at
such level.
In an interview after the match, Coach Matthew Julutweh
extended his gratitude to the playing body, technical staff
and all the officials and members of the Club and also took
the time to thank the fans and supporters for their
continuous supports.
On Thursday of this week, FC Fassell will be seeking to
extend her lead against her oldest rivals, Gardnersville FC
at the Nancy B. Doe Stadium in Kakata, Margibi County.
In other divisions, Invincible Eleven pinned Barrack Young
Controllers one goal to zero at a crowded ATS yesterday. The
defeat now place BYC at 4th place on the table with LPRC
Oilers moving 2nd place after defending Nimba United 2-1 at
the same venue. Nimba now moved 3rd on the premier table. In
the second division, Small Town defeated Al-Pro three goals
to zero at the ATS.
