Hey wants commitment from players of the Lone Star
|
Liberia coach Antoine Hey says his
foreign-based players must sign a letter of commitment if they
want to be part of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
The German issued the ultimatum after several players plying
their trade abroad failed to show up in the friendly against Sudan
last month.
Hey says the foreign-based players must sign the document by 30
April or they will be left out of the squad.
He said: "I am fed up of running after players to commit to the
campaign.
"We have to make travel and visa arrangements well ahead of the
qualifiers so we need to know who is in.
"Those who fail to sign the document will be left out of my
squad for the World Cup qualifiers."
Hey's first competitive game in charge of the squad will be a
World Cup qualifier against Gambia at the end of May.
They also face Senegal and Algeria.
Meanwhile, Liberia will play Oman in an international friendly
in Muscat on 24 April as part of the warm-up for the qualifiers. |
