Black Star FC has won this year’s Liberia Football Association
Premiership league on an impressive note.
Black Star FC achieved the feat after defeating FC AK Liberia 1-0 in
a classical showdown Sunday at the SKD practice pitch.
Gabriel Yankor secured the team’s honor three minutes after official
kickoff from a wonderful effort.
Songs of joy filled the air as the trophy was being presented to the
new champions by Defense Minister Browne Samukai.
The victory gave Black Star 27 points with one game remaining.
Black Star has won her first premiership title since the Liberia
Football Association launched the premiership in 2001.
Invincible Eleven who were defending the title until Sunday, missed
the opportunity to take the league to the last weekend.
USA FC whipped the yellow boys 1-0 on Saturday at the SKD Practice
Pitch.
Mighty Barrolle another title contender were held to an entertaining
0-0 draw by Gedi &Sons FC at the Doris Williams Stadium in Buchanan,
Grand Bassa County.
