Best Swedish Based African Player To Be Named

Nordic Africa News (NAN) Magazine, an online publication based in
Sweden, will name the best African football player in Sweden at the
end of the season.
According to the magazine’s editor, Liberian journalist, Simon
Reeves, the award is intended to reward the talent of Africans
playing in the Swedish premiership.
"Our aim is to tell the world that there are very talented
Africans working wonders here and "we are naming this person as the
best player because he stood up from the rest in a particular
season."
He added that the magazine is in talks with a corporate sponsor,
who has in principle agreed to sponsor the award.
NAN, which was launched recently, sees the award as a stepping
stone to bigger things.
"Our goal is to include other Africans playing in the top leagues
of all the Nordic countries: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and
Finland But we have to first start from somewhere. So we chose
Sweden because that’s where the magazine is based."
Mr. Reeves also added that NAN, which is becoming the most
popular English language publication in the region, will, in the
future, recognize the contributions of others in different areas
like humanitarian work, human rights, politics and business.
"We plan to hold a big awards’ night to honor Africans who are
making the difference here," Reeves noted.
