Barrolle Massacre NPA Anchors

LFA Reigning Champs The mighty Barrolle

By: Julu M. Johnson, Jr.

The premier league leaders NPA Anchors suffered their heaviest defeat of the 2005 National Football League and that was at the hands of the reigning champions Mighty Barrolle at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) on Sunday, July 3, 2005.

With the combined efforts of Solomon Grimes, Abu Sando, Nuzohn Kulala, Michael Amakaeze, Varmah Kpoto, Morris Bayoh, Mighty Barrolle overcame NPA Acnhors via a stunning 4-1 victory.
The Rollers went up in the 16th minute through Alfred Coleman, but the NPA Anchors hit back and scored through Fredrick Nyemah to end the first half 1-1.

Mighty Barrolle grabbed the lead again in the 55th minute and the scorer was midfield star Abu Sando.

Nuzohn Kulala subsquently stretched the lead for Barrolle with a brace in the 68th and 84th minutes to nail the coffin of the NPA Anchors.

The former star player of the Mighty Barrolle, James Salinsa Debbah was the coach of the day. Thus, songs of praises to Debbah, arguably the club's greatest player, was sung by the numerous lovers of the Rollers.

The match was watched by Barrolle president Lewis Browne and his technical deputy Josiah N. Johnson alias JNJ.

Meanwhile, there were two matches prior to the Barrolle-NPA Anchors match.
In game one, Small Town of Logan Town were 2-1 winners over Mighty Electrons of Paynesville.

Small Town got the lead via Thomas Togba in the 6th minute before Mighty Electrons equalized in the 28th minute through Sundayboy Mason. Yet, a strike from Abel Saye in the 33rd minute was enough to see Small Town celebrate.

The match that followed saw Earth Angels outclassing their dreadful archrivals Tito United 1-0. Mamie Kamara was the queen of the day.
