Barrolle, IE To
Decide Knockout Slot

By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.
Deadly soccer rivals Mighty Barrolle and Invincible Eleven
(IE) have been drawn face to face in the first stage of the 2004
Knockout soccer tournament.
The two sides will have to decide whether it is the Red or Yellow
that should advance to the next round.
Barrolle edged out their rivals IE from the first spot to become
the champions of the Premier League.
They met once this season, but the match failed to get a winner
due to violence that erupted after Barrolle's Solomon Grimes was
red-carded.
Notwithstanding, Barrolle lost the three points to IE after it was
ruled that fans of the Red Boys were responsible for the violence.
Apart from the IE-Barrolle battle, there are some tricky ties to
look up to.
In one pairing, LPRC Oilers of the premier league will meet first
division side Black Star, while LISCR FC will face NPA Anchors of
Frank Jerico Nagbe.
The defending champions Mighty Blue Angels will wait until the
next stage.
Their opponent is either Devereux or LMA Green Pepper who are
expected to open the Knockout championship.
The undefeated side in the second division Karn United will rub
shoulders with Millennium Stars.
The young and aggressive Haja FC will meet the grand old St.
Joseph Warriors.
Premier league club Monrovia Club Breweries will sort things out
with Juventus Olympic, while division one side Roza will go against
Shoes FC. |
