Barrolle Wins Lone Star Tourney

3/ 18/ 2004 Monrovia-Mighty Barrolle has won the Lone Star Fund Raising Tournament, organized by the Lone Star Fund Committee, headed by the lady, Mrs. Joyce Reeves-Woods.

  The Red Boys defeated current Liberian soccer champions, the Oilers from the Liberian Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) 3-1 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) last Sunday, February 14, 2004 in the grand final.

  Prior to the victory by the Rollers over the LPRC Oilers, Mighty Barrolle brought to an end the long search to find win over the LISCR FC.

  With former player David Nimely now serving as head coach, the Red Boys brushed aside LISCR FC 2-0 on Saturday, February.

  As for LPRC Oilers, they advanced to the final after eliminating Invincible Eleven (IE) 3-1 on Sunday, February 8, 2004 only to easily bow to Mighty Barrolle.        

  The four-team tournament was meant to raise funds for the national football team Lone Star, as it prepares to participate in the combined 2006 World Cup and Nations Cup qualifiers, will begin on Saturday, February 7 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS).
