Barrolle Coach Has Lone Star Interest

By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.

The dream of every coach is to serve his country's national team.

But in most part of the world, the job has turned out to be a risky venture these days. For instance, coaches must prepare to suffer the wrath of fans when the desired result fails to come.

Even though the 3-0 defeat the Lone Star led to the looting of the home of the then national head coach Kadallah Kromah, Mighty Barrolle tactician David Nimely is not deterred.

Reacting to the existing vacancy within the Liberian national team, Nimely said, when called upon, he would not hesitate in taking the job, despite the danger that is associated with it.

"This is my motherland. If there is anything I can do to solve the problem of my motherland, I can take the job."

Nimely, who labeled himself as "qualified, said: "There is no time on Lone Star's side, but with the players that are available, the team can still make it given international test matches."

"I have some other players in mind, but regrettably I am not the coach," stated a confident coach Nimely.

Kromah was largely blamed for the recent Lone Star defeat for allegedly refusing to recall some old bones to the squad. So Coach Nimely warned, "If I should come in the picture, the players out there need to be reunited."

He added, "I need to go out there to bring the competent ones."

David Nimely revealed that it has been his dream to coach the national team. "That is why I have acquired a sound cv(curriculum vitae)."

Nimely recently led Mighty Barrolle led to the premier league title. A former player of the Red Boys, he returned to the country last year after a period of stay in Ghana. While serving as refugee, he studied advanced and intermediate coaching at the famous Winneba Sports College.

In recent weeks, Nimely was in Cologne, Germany where he underwent another training in coach. He earned an "A" license there.

Nimely, who abandoned active soccer in 1982, believes that with the level of training he has acquired, he is the right man for the job.
