The Chief Executive Officer and President of the Bahlodi
Africa/Liberia says his entity remains committed to the development
of sports in the country.
Despite canceling a promotion contract with the Liberia Football
Association (LFA), Mr. Steve B. Davis stated that Bahlodi or Ditiro,
the sporting arm, was still determined to continuously develop the
game in the country.
“We only said that the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with LFA
was being withdrawn, but we are here to develop sports and will
continue to do so,” indicated Mr. Davis.
Moreover, Mr. Davis noted, “Whatever assistance that is required
of us will be performed as long as we have the resources.”
He congratulated the press for the task of informing the public
in the area of sports and commended those that voted for him as
Sportsman of the Year for 2006.
According to him, Bahlodi was contemplating putting into place a
program that would cater to communities in need of sports
development.
He promised that there would still be a cordial tie with the LFA
but not on the basis of an MOU that has now become something of the
past.
“We are still working tirelessly to move the game forward but
that won’t be under the old arrangement with the LFA.
“We have decided to help athletes to secure contracts abroad and
even clubs that deserve our assistance.”
He concluded, “We don’t have problem working with the Sports
Ministry except that we have not been invited to form part of its
program.”
