Premier League Leader, Barrack Young Controllers on Monday
proved their readiness to capture their first championship
by unmercifully whipping her closer rival Jubilee FC 5 goals
to 1 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Central Monrovia.
The result of their last meeting was a draw, which climaxed
all premier matches for phase one.
The Blues, with total dominance thru out the 90 minutes
interval, took the lead in the early minutes of the first
thru a penalty conversion by midfielder, Claudius Morris
alias ‘Bone Face” and youngster, Prince Saydee got the
second goal later in the same half, making it 2-0 to BYC
before the break. Jubilee, after the break, tried to make a
comeback but BYC, taking advantage of the napping situation
of Jubilee defense, extended her lead to 3 goals thru
Claudius Morris again after a brilliant collaboration
between the midfielders and newly signed Troken Myers who
was brought in for Teko Nah in the 2nd half.
To make matter worst for Jubilee, Sylvester Neufville made
it 4-0 and later, Claudius Morris completed his hat-trick
from a clever volley by Troken Myers, completing the scoring
list for the premiership hopefuls. Jubilee FC got her
cancellation goal afterward from a foolish play by the BYC
central defense.
In the other premier match, LISCR FC defeated Nimba United
2-1 at the same venue in a very interesting soccer showdown.
Marcus MacCauley put LISCR in front in the 20th minutes of
the first half but the Nimbianians leveled the score 10
minutes later, with first half ending 1-1. The 2nd half saw
a more attacking football from both teams but LISCR got the
best out of those attacks by taking the lead again thru
young striker, Vitalie Sie; Sosa skillfully played a through
ball in the way of the striker, who had only the goalie to
beat and he did that cleverly without any hesitation. The
match ended 2-1 in favor of the LISCR.
The results keep BYC at the top, with LISCR FC elevating to
2nd place. Jubilee slipped to 3rd spot and Nimba United
remains in 5th place; places which they hold for a moment,
awaiting results from LPRC Oilers vs. MC Breweries on
Thursday this week.
