Appreciation Celebration

As many continue to express disappointment over the former Vice
President of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) Siaka Sheriff
recent defeat, the Siaka Sheriff Campaign team is said to have put the
result behind them and is moving the game forward in the country.
According to Siaka Sheriff's Campaign Manager Andy Quamie, they are
expected to hold an appreciation celebration congress for delegates,
especially for those who supported them during the process.
Mr. Quamie said the one day celebration, which is scheduled for
Sunday, March 26 at his Duport Road Residence, is to show how grateful
they were to the many supporters who identified with them during the
just ended LFA elections in Kakata, Margibi Country.
The Siaka Sheriff Campaign boss further said that their major concern
all along has been to see the game being development at all levels so
as to be on par with our colleagues on the continent.
He also disclosed that during the one day celebration, the former LFA
Vice President Siaka Sheriff will make a brief statement regarding his
plans for the development of football in the country.
Meanwhile, a youth group based in Sinkor says they are disappointed
over the defeat of Mr. Siaka Sheriff.
The Youth Sports Promoters, in a release issued on Friday, March 23,
said the defeat of Mr. Sheriff is a serious blow to football
development in the country.
They said during the former Vice President's term at the local
football house, he was always concerned about youth soccer
development.
They used the release to call on Mr. Sheriff to keep courage, adding
that his road in promoting the game in the country will be remember
highly by all youths, especially the Youth Sports Promoters.
Reports gathered say thousands of Liberians are set to be part of Mr.
Siaka Sheriff's appreciation celebration this Sunday, March 26 in
Duport Road.
Dulee Commends Izetta International midfield man Dulee Johnson of
Swedish premiership side AIK Solna has extended congratulations to
Cllr Izetta Wesley and the newly elected officials of the Liberia
Football Association.
He said the election of Cllr Wesley shows that those who have a stake
in the development of the game trust her. "They are satisfied with how
she has served as acting president," Dulee noted.
He prayed that she continues her program to totally develop Liberian
football.
The player said on Wednesday that it is important for the LFA to have
a competent and hardworking leadership if football is to improve in
the country.
He called on the losing candidates to forget about the elections and
aim at taking football to higher heights.
"No one should consider themselves a loser. The elections are over.
Everybody must get on board because football can serve as a unifying
factor in our country which needs unification," the player added.
