LoneStar Lineup the last Game Against Angola
The first match in the Brazil 2014 world cup qualifiers saw
the Lone star of Liberia go down by 3-1 to Les Lions de la
Teranga (the Lions of Teranga) of Senegal in Dakar on June
2, 2012.
In spite of going ahead 1-0 in the early minutes of the
match, the Lone Star failed to maintain the affairs, losing
the entire three points.
That was the debut match. Sunday June 10, 2012 will see the
national team enter into its second match against another
tough side in African football, Angola at the ATS in
Monrovia. The last time the two sides met it was a 1-1 tie
in Monrovia in a friendly encounter.
In their first match, also at weekend, Angola managed a 1-1
draw at home to Uganda who are the other member of Group
‘J’.
The Angolan side, nicknamed Palancas Negras (Sable
Antelopes), will jet in Thursday June 7 with a 37 member
delegation. The Mauritania referees, Guinean referee
Assessor and the Nigerian match commissioner will arrive on
Friday June 8.
The match is bound for Sunday June 10 at 4pm at the ATS in
central Monrovia.
