The technical staff of the Liberia national team, has named and
recalled 24 players to camp at the Adolphus Lodge for the
forthcoming Cameroon encounter.
The technical staff failed to include the names of several key
senior players including Oliver Makor, Prince Daye, Kelvin Saybwe
and Louis Crayton despite numerous calls from different quarters
that the players be recalled.
In a cell phone conversation with coach Nagbe last night, he
confirmed that indeed the above named players and many other
Liberian players are being left out of the Cameroon match. He said
there was no rift between the technical staff and these players and
that they still remain players of the national team.
Coach Nagbe said, he has decided to leave out these players only for
the Cameroon game but that they would be recalled for future games.
He noted that there are dozens of Liberians playing out of the
country but that it is just not possible to recall everybody just
for a single match.
He further stated that the players recalled are his choice for the
Cameroon match and he is confident that they can deliver the goods
to the Liberian people.
Head Coach Nagbe has disclosed that three of the foreign based
players invited have already arrived in the country and that he has
already spoken with Frank Seator, who confirmed that, he and most of
the other players will arrive on Sunday.
He said that as of Monday, the team is expected to begin vigorous
training for the African giants.
Those recalled to camp are Sunday Seah, Saylee Swen, Jerry Bing,
Murphy Nagbe, Varmah Kpoto, Solomon Wesseh, George Baysah, Lamin
Ousman, and Chris Gbandi.
Others invited are James Zotiah, Steve Mennoh, Dulee Johnson, Frank
Nagbe Jr., James Koko Lomell, Johnny Bleedee, Anthony Laffor, Gizzi
Dorbor, Frank Seator.
The rest of the players invited to camp are Vertalis Seah, Francis
Grandpa Doe, Zah Krangar, Shelton Barlee, Leon Power and Sengbe
Kennedy.
