Liberia's enterprising striker,
Alvin "Power" Kieh, has been loaned to second division side Hankaris
FC in Cyprus in an effort aimed at saving the team from relegation.
Making the disclosure to our Sports
Desk via telephone conversation, player Kieh said his present team,
Famaguspa Anorkhosis, decided to do so based on some understanding
signed between the two teams. He said he will stay with the second
division side for three months only and returned to Famaguspa
Anorkhosis in May this year to continue his 3-year contract signed
with them this year.
Commenting on his performance since
being loaned to the second division side, Power Kieh said he scored 2
goals in their 4-2 win over another club and the team is lying 12th on
the league table. He also said this Sunday they will be playing the
team that is lying 6th on the league table. Quizzed whether he saw
himself being loaned to a second division side as minus in his career,
'Power' said no and added that it shows that his exploits are being
recognized in Cyprus. He said if a club could ask his mother club for
him to come help and save them from relegation, shows that he is
player that is doing well in Cyprus.
On whether he can help save the
team, 'Power' said with God above and the rest of his teammates
collective effort, they can save the team from relegation. Meanwhile,
Power said he is contemplating coming to Liberia to join the local
players train before going to Ethiopia. "If my new team is in a good
position I will fly to Liberia and train with the locals, but order
than that, I will fly to Ethiopia for the match," he noted.
Alvin 'Power' Kieh is among the final
11 foreign-based players that have been selected for the Ethiopia
match. In his debut match against Niger, he was delight to watch.
